For all interested parties:
kerfuffle (n.) -- disorder, commotion; alternately written as curfuffle, kafuffle, gefuffle
As in: "This spike, combined with negative seasonal weather predictions and the continued angst over conflicts in the Middle East, seems to be causing quite the kerfuffle." or "The approaching tunes of the ice cream truck, caused a kerfuffle among the neighborhood kids as they scrambled to partake of the ice cream man's frozen delights."
"kerfuffle" is quickly becoming one of my new favorite words.
Thanks for pointing me to this post, sweetie! Seriously LOVE this word!
I've coined a conjugation: "kerfluffiation" :D
