So, what to name our space for communicating with loved ones? What to call this medium for expressing our thoughts, feelings, and opinions? What title should I give to this place where we can explore curiosities and share discoveries?
I figured when engaged in the process of thinking of a title for your website/online journal/blog, it is best to consult the people-who-know-such-things. Well, the people-who-know-such-things discourage using a title that is too short or too long, too generic or too "boring"; rather, they suggest that you use a name that reflects your personality, one that is interesting and meaningful.
And after much deliberation I kept coming back to "everything which is yes"--a reference to one of my favorite poems:
i thank You God for most this amazing
day:for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky;and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes
(i who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun's birthday;this is the birth
day of life and love and wings:and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)
how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any-lifted from the no
of all nothing-human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?
(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)
--E.E. Cummings
Whenever I read these words I feel a rush of promise, of hope, of vitality, of wonder and of thanks. In my mind, that's not such a bad way to live life: full of promise and hope in a brand new day, full of vitality and wonder, and full of thanks--full of everything which is "yes".
God does offer a lot of "Yes" - but knowing that it's from Him is important
